The NRA Finally Says Something

Photobucket

The NRA had been silent since last Friday (it's now Tuesday - so five days) but today finally made a statement about the Sandy Hook/Newtown Connecticut shooting. Just what it all means is unclea, but they are having a press conference on Friday, probably to change the subject to mental illness, which has been the talking point on TV and Twitter all day from the right.

Ironically, this Friday, December 21, is the day many believe the world is going to end. Dare we hope that they will announce the "end" of the NRA. Naaah - that's just a dream.

NRA Statement via USA Today
"The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.

"Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.

"The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.

"The NRA is planning to hold a major news conference in the Washington, DC area on Friday, December 21.

"Details will be released to the media at the appropriate time."
